Essence Bond broken?
Last night, in Ravenheart Gloom in DoA I was playing a bonder monk. My skills and bonds depend on the sort of energy essence bond can kick out when placed on the tank and from time to time, it seems like the energy output from Essence Bond would turn off or be disabled. Same with all the Ele's and the other monks, they were all experiencing this problem with Essence Bond. Did the update mess up EB or what? Because maintaining 12 bonds last night with EB messing up was tough stuff.

im not sure, but i think you should use balthazar's spirit for bonding monks, because it rewards energy and adrenaline for any type of damage, while essence bond will only trigger on physical or elemental damage.
Or on one of the notes on guildwiki: *Damage redirected to you as a result of Life Bond does not count as physical or elemental damage, and therefore will not give you any energy. |

He placed essence on the tank, so unless they all mysteriously started dealing holy damage there's no reason for him not to gain the energy. The aforementioned possibility also wouldn't take into account the ele's attunements not working.

Balthazar's Spirit doesn't redirect energy towards the caster unlike Essence Bond. The adrenaline and energy you get from BS are for the target, not the caster |

According to the official list on guildwars.com and the wiki, Essence Bond was not altered in any way.
You should report it to support with as much info as you and other players can remember. Also helps if you can duplicate it. |

You are misunderstood. It does when the caster puts it on HIMSELF. When you bond someone with Life Bond, some of the damage is redirected to you. Unspecific, no-type damage. That damage triggers the Balthazar's Spirit on you, thus giving you MORE energy than essence bond would. Especially if you have life bond on several members that are taking damage. He never stated to use Balthazars in the same manner that you would use essence bond. |
